Vega is a blue main-sequence star located in the Lyra constellation. Due to centrifugal effects, the area around its equator bulges out. At maximum it has a diameter 2.818 times that of the Sun. Vega has been studied extensively by astronomers.
Due to their proximity, Vega is widely associated with the nearby Altair, located in and the brightest star within the constellation Aquila. It has an oblate shape as well. Altair is a white main sequence star with a diameter between 1.63 to 2.03 times that of the Sun's.
